چکیده

High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmit signal is a major drawback of multicarrier (MC) transmission such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. This paper presents a novel Reed-Solomon (RS) codes based MC transmission scheme for reduction of PAPR called RS Turbo coded OFDM system. The reduction of PAPR of OFDM signal is obtained through a proper selection of RS turbo coding scheme that distributes the power of each modulated symbol over the OFDM block. The obtained results show that RS turbo coding scheme is an attractive solution to a PAPR problem of OFDM signals. The good improvement in PAPR given by present technique permits the reduction of complexity and cost of transmitter significantly and improved the performance of OFDM system. Finally, the performance of the RS turbo OFDM system is further evaluated by simulations showing the performance gain of the RS-OFDM system compared to a traditional uncoded OFDM.

A Low Complexity Forward Error Correction for PAPR reduction in OFDM Systems

In this paper, a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction technique in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems is proposed. This technique uses error correction capability of channel coding to reduce the PAPR.The coded bits at the input of OFDM modulator are separated into two groups of the Most Significant Bits (MSB) and the LeastSignificant Bits (LSB). The bits are mappe...

Selective Tone Reservation method for PAPR reduction in SFBC-OFDM systems

The high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and MIMO-OFDM systems reduces the system efficiency. In this paper, an extension of Tone Reservation (TR) method is introduced for PAPR reduction in Space Frequency Block Coded OFDM (SFBC-OFDM) systems. The proposed algorithm is based on a time domain kernel which is added to the signal of the anten...

An Efficient Scheme for PAPR Reduction of OFDM based on Selected Mapping without Side Information

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become a promising method for many wireless communication applications. However, one main drawback of OFDM systems is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Selected mapping (SLM) is a well-known technique to decrease the problem of high PAPR in OFDM systems. In this method, transmitter is obliged to send some bits named side informati...
